## Plan
Hypothesis: add group/cabin/X-only sharing features on top of n002 cryo-imputed spends + depth-3 HGB.
- GroupId from PassengerId prefix; GroupSize; IsAlone
- Cabin side P/S/Missing one-hots
- Last-name within-group (not global LastNameSize)
- Shared HomePlanet/Destination/Deck/CryoSleep from mode of non-missing groupmates, per file, never Transported
- No group target encoding
- If mean gain < 0.007 or fold std does not drop, revert toward side-only

Next: evaluate untouched parent on quick, then inspect group/side/sharing rates on train.csv.

## Untouched parent (quick)
Command: eval/eval.py --seedset quick with the task venv python.
score=0.79655 folds=[0.78495, 0.80229, 0.80476, 0.79985, 0.79088] std not reprinted here; n=6954 elapsed=18.2s.
Matches n002 worker quick. This is the starting point.

## Train.csv probes (not a score)
- Side transported: P 0.449 n=3398, S 0.548 n=3392, Missing 0.482 n=164.
- GroupSize: alone 0.452 n=3860; size 2–4 rise to 0.54–0.62; size 8 drops to 0.394.
- HomePlanet and Side are never mixed inside a group; SharedHomePlanet ≈ not-alone.
- Deck sharing is the strongest share flag (shared 0.604 n=2013 vs mixed 0.460 n=1001).
- Destination mixed 0.588 vs shared 0.509; CryoSleep mixed 0.584 vs shared 0.491.
- FamilyInGroup==GroupSize on 86% of rows, corr 0.847. Last-name mixed vs shared transport is 0.554 vs 0.556.
Implementation: GroupSize, IsAlone, Side one-hots, SharesLastName (binary, not integer FamilyInGroup), Shared{HomePlanet,Destination,Deck,CryoSleep} from non-missing group nunique==1 and count>=2. Per-file, no Transported. No global LastNameSize, no group-mode fill of cats (n004 dead end).

## Next
Implement those X-only features on the existing cryo + depth-3 HGB pipeline, then quick-eval. If gain < 0.007 or fold std rises, ablate toward side-only.

## Implementation
`src/features.py`: parse_side/group_id/last_name, add_group_features (per-file), Side in CATS, group flags in NUM_COLS. FeatureBuilder runs add_group_features after cryo rules on train and predict independently.
`train.py`: docstring only; still ShallowHGBModel.
Local sanity: GroupSize matches value_counts; missing names never share; no Transported needed; train 6954x38 / test 4277x38, zero NaNs; train.py writes PassengerId,Transported for all 4277 test ids.

## About to eval (full group+side+sharing)
Command: eval/eval.py --seedset quick. Compare to parent 0.79655. Threshold: mean gain >= 0.007 or fold std drop; else ablate toward side-only.

These are worker local probes. parent_no_group_side and full matched the official quick numbers exactly.

Decision: ship the full hypothesis set. Side is the bulk of the lift. Sharing+last-name add a small extra that puts the mean over 0.007; removing them does not drop std below parent. Side-only misses the 0.007 bar. Did not revert: gain met the bar, every fold improved, last-name binary helped vs dropping it. Std still higher than parent — validation may shrink the extra share flags.
